Play Equipment
Little Monkey Bizness is geared toward younger kids, ages 1 month to 8 years. The play area is fully enclosed with padded play equipment. Parents will still need to watch their children, but the set-up and safety system allows for more freedom than an outdoor park. Please watch your kids! It is a safe place where they can not run away, but be sure to keep them in your sight and ensure they are playing nicely with others. On the more crowded days, we have seen kids get pushed or kicked (normal toddler stuff) without a reprimand from a parent.
The younger children will have a chance to maneuver:
- steps
- slides
- climbing equipment
- bounce house
- “shoot hoops” in a huge inflatable pop-a-shot.
All of the elevated play areas are enclosed with netting – so there is not need to worry about kids falling from high areas. However, a few spots can be tricky – parents may need to “rescue” littler ones.
Dance Floor and Tree House:
There is also a dance floor with mirrors, so kids can watch themselves dance and play. They provide costumes for kids to dress up in. They also have a variety of books for the little ones that are tired of running. Next to the dance floor, is a small tree house climber. Here, younger kids can crawl through the tunnels or use it to balance while walking.
For Young Babies and Crawlers:
Off of the snack area, there is a separate fully-enclosed space for small babies and crawlers. Here, young ones can climb or sit in soft, padded play equipment. You do not have to worry about them getting “run” over by the older kids.
Art Room:
There is also a separate room for art-based activities. The art supplies are provided at no extra charge. Here, kids can put on a smock, sit in “kid-sized” chairs and tables, and create art. Kids can:
- Draw
- Paint
- Play with various art mediums
You have to gather and clean up the art supplies yourself. Most of the supplies are very “well used.” So, if your child insists on crayons with a tip or unmixed paints – you may be digging for a while. Or, if your kid has a short attention span (like mine), you may not want to spend the time setting up. So, we suggest letting them draw on the chalk board.
Snacks and Drinks:
There is an area dedicated to food and drink with lots of tables. NO outside food or drinks are allowed (except sippy cups). They sell:
- Gourmet coffee (Cappuccino, Latte’s, etc)
- Soda
- Smoothies
- Juice
- Snacks – fruit snacks, chips, granola bars, and pastries
- Also offer lunch items like pizza, nachos, sandwiches, salads and hotdogs – ONLY on week days
- However, this all comes at a cost. It can get expensive.
Insider Tips:
- Kids MUST wear socks to play
- For “first timers” – you can fill out the liability waver on Little Monkey Bizness’ website. It may save a few minutes at the check-in counter.
- If you are looking for inexpensive snacks or lunch items – plan on eating somewhere else
- Coupons for discounted admission can be found in a few locations (Groupon – occasionally, local magazines)
- Call for additional open play times on the weekends. They book birthday parties in the afternoon. However, if no parties are booked, they open it to play time.
- A new self-serve frozen yogurt place just opened up next door – plan on heading there for a nice treat after a long day of play.
