Windsor Park is one of the lesser-known parks in Prairie Village, KS. It is set far back from the street behind St. Ann’s School – you will have to search for it. It is not very crowded and mostly used by the school’s families and neighbors in the area. It has open areas, fantastic shaded walkways, 1 small baseball/soccer field, 2 tennis courts, sand volleyball court, a smaller exercise track, play equipment, covered shelter, designated parking, and a port-a-potty.

Play Equipment
The play area is not too large, but meets a variety of ages. It includes:

  • 2 large, separate climbing structures
    • One is very tall – for the older kids
      • 2 large slides
      • Challenging climbing activities
      • Rubber chips underneath
    • One is short – for the younger kids
      • 3 smaller slides
      • Balance-beam
      • Tunnel
      • Rubber chips underneath
  • 3 regular swings
  • 2 toddler swings
  • Sandbox
  • Large covered area with multiple picnic tables
  • Water-fountains
  • Sand volleyball court
  • 2 tennis courts
  • Port-a-Potty located at the entrance to the park

Exercise Track
There is a short path circles around the park with other paths that meander around the park and over small bridges. The paths are beautifully shaded and have benches located at various points. It is great for walking, but not great for those learning to ride a bike. The small bridges and turns might be a bit tricky for new riders. However, the entire park is set off from the street. You do not have to worry about traffic.

Covered Shelter
There is a full-covered shelter between the tennis courts and play equipment. It has:

  • Multiple tables
  • BBQ area

Open Space and Baseball/Soccer Field
These areas are set-off from the road so you do not have to worry about kids or balls rolling into the busy street. Great for running around, playing sports, or sitting on a blanket. Some of the school’s teams will practice here. So, get there before school is out or well-after they have dismissed.

Tennis Courts
There are two tennis courts at this park. One is in great condition. The other needs some repairs to the net. So, if you are a very competitive player – have another plan in place in case the other court is occupied.

Sand Volleyball Court
There is a sand volley ball court near the play equipment. It is well shaded, but needs a little love. Some grass has crept in and the net hangs a little low. However, it is still perfect for a friendly game of volleyball.

Insider tips:

  • Get there before school is out
  • Great neighborhood park – perfect for picnics
  • Beware of school functions during the spring and fall – often St. Ann’s will rent the shelter for school parties. It will be crowded.
