McCrum Park is another great, simple park in Prairie Village, KS. It is off of a busy street, but remains fairly quiet. It is not very crowded and mostly used by the families in the area. It has an open area, 1 tennis courts, 1 basketball court, play equipment, and swings.  There is only on-street parking. You will have to keep an eye on your children; it is surrounded on 3 sides by busy streets.

Play Equipment
The play area is smaller, but meets a variety of ages. It includes:

  • 1 climbing structure
    • It is small, but has a variety of activities to entertain all ages
      • 1large twisty slide
      • Challenging climbing activities
      • Tic-tac-toe game
      • 2 small slides
      • Rubber chips underneath
  • 4 regular swings
  • 2 toddler swings
  • Sit-in helicopter for imaginative play
  • 4 ride-on toys
  • 2 picnic tables and a few benches
  • 1 tennis court
  • Water fountain

Open Space and Basketball Court
These areas are smaller than other parks. They are closer to the busy street, so you have to keep a close eye on your kids. The open area is great for a picnic or a small game of soccer. The basketball court is small with only one goal.

Tennis Courts
There is one tennis court at this park. It is in good condition, but usually occupied. So, if you are a very competitive player – have another plan in place in case the other court is occupied. It is a perfect place if you and a child are playing tennis while another child plays at the park.

  • Watch for no-parking signs. There are places on the street where you are not allowed to park.
  • Great neighborhood park – perfect for picnics
  • The park is close to the Prairie Village Shops – so, you could pick up a pizza or bagles on your way to the park or on your way home.
