Meadowlake Park is a beautifully shaded park with varied play equipment in Prairie Village, KS. It is a perfect neighborhood park for families with kids in multiple age-ranges. The park entrance is slightly hidden. You can see the tennis courts from the street, but the rest of the park is set back from the street. It has open areas, 2 tennis courts, 2 large sandboxes, baseball/soccer field, a ½ basketball court, exercise track, play equipment, covered shelter, designated parking lot, and a port-a-potty.

Play Equipment
The play area is large and will entertain a variety of ages. It includes:

  • 2 large, separate climbing structures
    • One is taller – for the older kids
      • 4 large slides
      • Challenging climbing activities
      • Zip-line
      • Built-in- activities (i.e. – tic-tac-toe, maze game, store window)
    • One is short – for the younger kids
      • 2 smaller slides
      • Ramp entry
      • Built-in-activities (i.e – numbers, letters, maze game, mirror)
  • 2 regular swings
  • 2 toddler swings
  • Merry-go-around
  • Tunnel
  • Space ship
  • Balance Beam
  • Tire Swing

Exercise Track
There is a short path circles around the park. It is great for riding bikes or walking the dog. Some parts of the path are nicely shaded, others are not. The path has benches located at various points. It is great for walking and flat for those learning to ride a bike. The path is set-off from the street. You do not have to worry about traffic.

Covered Shelter
There is a full-covered shelter which is set back from the parking lot. It is near the play equipment and open space. Perfect for a picnic. It has:

  • Multiple tables
  • BBQ area

Open Space and Baseball/Soccer Field
These areas are set-off from the road so you do not have to worry about kids or balls rolling into the busy street. Great for running around and playing sports. There is shade surrounding the open space. Great for sitting on a blanket and watching the kids play.

Tennis Courts
There are two tennis courts at this park. They are both in great condition. They are used frequently – so be prepared with an alternate location in case they are occupied.

  • It is used mostly by  families in the area – it can get crowded
  • Check with the Prairie Village Parks Department before using the shelter – it is booked frequently in the summer
