I hesitate to tell everyone about this park – it is one of the best kept secrets in Prairie Village. Bennett Park is between Roe Ave and Nall Ave on 77th Street. The park is in wonderful condition, shaded, and usually we are the only people there. It has a large open area for soccer or baseball, 1 small basketball court, large play equipment for multiple ages, a climber, ride-on toys, and a small covered shelter.

Play Equipment
The play area is large, in excellent condition, and meets a variety of ages. It includes:

  • 1 large climbing structures
      • 2 large slides
      • 2 smaller slides
      • Challenging climbing activities
      • Rubber chips underneath
      • Bridge
      • Educational Games (alphabet, words, numbers, tic-tac-toe)
  • 3 regular swings
  • 2 toddler swings
  • Teeter-totter
  • 3 Rocking toys – train and 2 dinosaurs
  • 2 Balance platforms
  • Helicopter for imaginative play
  • Sandbox (does not have community toys)
  • Tall metal climbing structure – great for the older kids. It is pretty high.
  • Merry-go-round

The play equipment is near the road. It is not a busy street, but you do have to make sure the little ones do not wander too far.

Covered Shelter
There is a full-covered shelter next to the play equipment at the front of the park. It is large enough to cover 1 picnic table.  There are 2 other picnic tables, not covered toward the middle of the park.

Open Space and Baseball/Soccer Field
These areas are set-off from the road so you do not have to worry about kids or balls rolling into the busy street. Great for running around, playing sports, or sitting on a blanket. The open space is not as shaded as the play-equipment.
